1-Day Texas Tulips
You will love learning the fine art of hand applique in this class for all quilters.
Learn the hand applique techniques that will help to you sew better and happier. In addition to easy template making and how to make and use a placement for appliqué, you will perfect your invisible appliqué stitch as you work on your block in class. Stitching techniques include cutaway applique, outer and inner points, and curves.
Students work on the center 12" x 12" block in class.The pattern for this small quilt is included.
This class is suitable for all skill levels.

Lessons In Improvisational Appliqué
Explore a variety of design options as you learn how to improvise within a pattern to create a quilt with a happy and contemporary attitude. You will work on a 12” x 12” version of Block #4, above.

In a 2-day class you will spend the first day learning tips and tricks that can make working with color a lot easier. Students really enjoy having the extra day in class working on their color choices!
NOTE: You have the option of piecing your background or of using a single piece of fabric.

1-Day Chirp - Applique With Attitude
Learn to applique with attitude the Piece O' Cake way! Your stitches not only hold the applique in place, they embellish as well! You will learn the tricks of needleturn hand applique and sewing with perle cotton in this class for all skill levels.
This applique method is fast and fun and very cute! We will cover three different stitches in class.

The Ground (as seen from above)
A 2-Day Class In Improvisational Appliqué
Color, cut, sew, and improvise as you sew your own interpretation of the ground as seen from an airplane! The background in this quilt is composed of freely-cut pieces, sewn together into a patchwork field. The applique pieces are cut without a pattern and placed by eye on the background. Your confidence will grow as you master this approach to quiltmaking.
This 2-day class will be spent on color, design, background construction, and hand applique techniques. The pattern is included. This class is suitable for all skill levels.

1-Day Lorna's Vine
Conquer needle-turned curved edges and learn the hand applique techniques that will help to you sew better and happier. In addition to easy template making and how to make and use a placement for appliqué, you will perfect your invisible appliqué stitch as you work in class. Techniques include off-the-block construction and curves.
The pattern is included. This class is suitable for all skill levels.

How Much?
1-Day (6-Hour) Workshops: $675
2-Day Workshops: $1350
20 students maximum, additional students $35 each (per day) by permission of instructor.
I limit the number of students in my classes so that I can spend time with each student on an individual basis. In certain situations, it is possible to have more students, but this limits the one on one time with each pupil.
1 Hour Lecture: $425
Other Expenses including travel, meals, and lodging are listed in my contract.
Prices are locked in once a contract is signed.
Required Equipment for Workshops
I will bring a digital projector and camera to use in workshop presentations. Please have the following on hand:
- I can project on a white wall, the images will be better if projected onto a screen
- A long, heavy-duty extension cord that will accept a 3-prong plug
- 1 table for me to work on
- 1-2 tables for book sales and for quilts
- Duct tape to tape down cords
- An Ott light or something similar
- 1-3 irons and ironing surfaces
