I would like to to invite you to come with me on a sew-along adventure! We will be making a quilt by hand. You will get to be part of the process as this quilt goes from drawing to fabric. I don't usually share the behind-the-scenes details of my quilt-making process. You don't see my sketches, or the piles of fabric on my table. This time you will!
This is a hand work project. There is be English paper piecing (aka EPPing), hand applique, hand piecing, and hand quilting. The center medallion is 16" x 16". Most of the EPP blocks will be 8" x 8" and there are some 4" x 4" blocks. I think the quilt will finish at 48" x 48" but that could change. There will most likely be 10 different blocks plus 2 border blocks. Some blocks will repeat.
Subscribers will have access to private YouTube tutorial videos where I talk about color, design, and specific techniques. There is a private Facebook group where you can exchange ideas and techniques while working on the block. The first pattern was released January 7, 2019, and new patterns have been released on the 7th of each month since then. You can subscribe at any time. The patterns and videos for all of the blocks that have been released will be available for a very long time. I'd say 'forever' but that seems extreme.
Here is my quilt up through Block 6 on my design wall...
There isn't a fabric kit. I have included fabric and color information in the videos to make it easy for you to choose your own fabric. I suspect that many of you, like me, can make this quilt from fabric in your stash. The introductory video below will help you get started.
I look forward to seeing you on my Hand Sewing Adventure!
