Piece O' Cake Designs is a company specializing in quilt books and patterns. We are especially known for our applique designs.
We, Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins, together own and operate Piece O' Cake Designs, Inc.
Our books and patterns can be found in a variety of places: at your local quilt shop, on many quilting websites, from our publisher C&T, at many book stores, and right here on our website (click Books & DVD above)!
It's true - now we can come right into your home and teach you how to hand applique! Use this DVD by itself or pair it with our newest book, The New Applique Sampler.
Whether you already know how to applique or are a beginner, you will be able to improve your applique skills. Work at your own pace. Go back and watch individual segments as often as you like.
Click on the DVD for more information.

We support the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative, a program to raise awareness and fund research for Alzheimer's disease. It has two parts: a traveling art quilt exhibit interpreting Alzheimer's in fiber art that will tour the US for three years, and an on-going sale of small art quilts. And now there is a book!

Ours is a secure site using Yahoo's shopping cart technology. When you begin the check out process look at the page address at the top of the page. It should begin "https://... That "s" indicates a secure page. You may also have a "locked" lock icon on the bottom of that page.
Due to the marvels of modern technology, we have come up with a way to make our out-of-print patterns available again! Some are shown below. You can see more on our Patterns page.
It takes a while to prepare these patterns so we can't add them all at once. We will send out an eNewsletter as we get the patterns onto the site. If you haven't signed up to receive our eNewsletters, just click here or on the link at the top of the page.
Piecing: the Piece O' Cake Way! is written for both beginning quilters and for those who have been sewing a while. It is spiral bound and full of detailed photos. Click on the book for more information.

This quilt is featured in the June 2008 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting. The pattern for the quilt is in that issue of AP&Q and it is in our book, Piecing the Piece O' Cake Way.
We made fabric kits in three different colorways! The solids used in the "coins" are the same in each quilt. Only the print used in the vertical bars and borders changes. This quilt has a finished size of 39" x 51". This is a fast, fun, and easy quilt to make!
For more information, click the quilt. FYI - AP&Q mis-printed the the price of the kit. It really is $36, plus shipping.
